The Murcia can collaborate in the decoration of the new children's ward of La Arrixaca recycling glass (30/03/2016)

Murcia will collaborate in the decoration of the new children's ward at the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca with simply recycle glass.

Councillor for Public Works, Roque Ortiz;

Afacmur president, Francisco Palazón;

Ecovidrio marketing manager, Jose Luis Magro, and the director of Ferrovial Servicios in Murcia, Antonio Igualada, presented this morning the campaign 'Vidriosueño, Struggling for a Dream' which starts today and will run until April 28.

This initiative will involve the installation of glass containers, specially designed six emblematic of town (Liberty Avenue, Plaza de la Merced, Santa Isabel, Glorieta, Floridablanca Garden and Garden of Salitre) in which Murcia can deposit glass containers.

Ecovidrio will donate one euro for every kilo of glass containers citizens deposited in these containers are intended for decoration of the new children's ward at the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca.

In addition, the initiative will seek support online via the hashtag # vidriosueño and the sale of a solidarity bracelet Afacnur 'Fighting for a dream', which is available in partner establishments appearing on the website www.vidriosueño.es .

Over the next days, there will be ecoinformadores igloos that will explain the details of the campaign will raise awareness about recycling glass and solidarity sell the bracelet.

According to the latest data from 2015, Murcia recycled a total of 6,534,730 kilograms of glass containers, which means that each neighbor recycled an average of 15 kilograms of this material, in line with the national average is 15.5 kilograms per inhabitant

Regarding the rate of containers, Murcia is with an average of 322 inhabitants per container, and at present a total of 1,364 containers for packaging waste glass installed in the city.

During 2015, national Ecovidrio invested 8.6 million euros in 350 awareness campaigns to promote recycling by children, young people, responsible for household chores and society.

Thus, glass recycling was present at festivals, mass events, festivals, etc.

Ecovidrio is the non-profit entity, responsible for managing the recycling of glass packaging waste in Spain, since 1998. The company is fully responsible for managing the recycling chain, through selective collection, transport, treatment glass packaging and trading.

Ecovidrio provides a public, universal and free service for citizens and makes available to companies that package their products in glass a model of effective and efficient management, both from an environmental and economic perspective.

At present, a total of 2,558 companies are attached to Ecovidrio.

The sectors integrated into the association representing more than 3% of Spanish GDP and market 99% of glass containers.
