Murcia participates in the meeting of the Technical Committee of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (30/03/2016)

Murcia has participated in the meeting of the Technical Committee of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities held yesterday in Madrid, at the headquarters of the SETSI, Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Society Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism Government of Spain, attended by representatives of major Spanish cities.

The Department of Administration Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, directed through ALEM, the Local Energy Agency, the Energy Group RECI for Spain near the city of Malaga.

During the exhibition, municipal technicians have reviewed those issues that has been working since the last meeting of the Technical Committee in particular has been discussed Guide municipal energy management, recently published by Atersa have been exposed existing aid for energy rehabilitation of buildings and analyzed in detail the ManagEnergy Report of the European Commission among other technical issues.

This meeting has served to strengthen the links between the cities RECI and share knowledge and experiences in the fields of work leading group of Energy Murcia and Malaga.

The aim of this network is to establish a framework for collaboration and cooperation between cities to learn from each other and move forward and progress together in 5 major areas of work.

These areas have also served to establish working groups RECI: Social Innovation, Energy, Environment and Habitability Urban Infrastructure, Urban Mobility and finally, Government, Economics and Business.

Cities RECI work in a climate of closeness and collaboration in which knowledge is shared, in which the cities advice and mutual orientation are offered and carried out a pooling of technical documents of performances and projects with the aim of saving Municipal resources and optimize management.

In short, the work of the network is an exercise of municipal transparency and efficient use of resources which all members are benefiting.

Murcia and Malaga are working in Guidelines Monitoring Building and lighting respectively, based on creating a homogenization in cities.

Murcia focuses on Buildings and Public Lighting Malaga set guidelines for correct monitoring of checks on full and detailed energy consumption both street lighting and buildings.

The Spanish Network of Smart Cities currently consists of a total of 65 municipalities among which are for example Alcobendas, Alicante, Barcelona, ​​Burgos, Cáceres, Castellon, Cordoba Guadalajara, La Coruna, Elche, Gijon, Logroño, Lugo, Huesca, Madrid, Malaga, Marbella, Murcia, Palencia, Pamplona, ​​Rivas-Vaciamadrid, Salamanca, Santander, Segovia, Valencia, Valladolid, Vitoria, Sabadell and Zaragoza.

The cities of RECI share the will to follow a strategic plan with specific actions to promote innovation and the use of new technologies to build smart cities, and are willing to put their resources and experience in this area available to the rest of the members of the Network.
