44 barracks inform customers about allergies and intolerances products (24/03/2016)

Inspection services Consumer ensure compliance with health regulations in the 44 barracks that urge in town next week on the occasion of the Spring Festival.

This year, with the entry into force of the Regulation on Food Information to Consumers, all have available to its customers information on allergies and intolerances.

Sunday start control campaign in these establishments by the Department of Commerce, Organization and Institutional Relations.

Between Sunday and Monday all barracks in order to verify compliance with the health regulations to be observed in relation to the state of adaptation of the premises, facilities, equipment and supplies, raw materials and processed food handling practices will visit and conditions of staff.

Among the requirements of the premises, facilities and equipment highlights the isolation of sources of pollution;

food protection;

ceilings, walls and floors adequate;

exclusive toilets personnel;

power supply and hot water;

handwash;

methods of distribution sanitize containers, dishes and cutlery;

storage of perishable and non-perishable for isolation containers or trailer used mostly with air conditioning and refrigeration chambers;

surfaces and equipment adequate and clean work;

etc…

Regarding handling practices, is controlled, among other things, the origin and status of raw materials, possible cross-contamination, sauces, witnesses dishes, disinfection of vegetables for raw consumption, temperature control and food preservation, etc.

And regarding the handling staff, training, clothing exclusive use and other aspects and hygienic practices demand.

In a second phase, which will start on Wednesday, they will revisit all the barracks to check that it has been made possible deficiencies that could have been finding.

Four inspectors from the Department of Commerce, Organization and Institutional Relations, who heads Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, are responsible for this work in the 44 barracks installed by the Federation of Peñas vegetable garden, of them, 38 in public and 6 in their own headquarters.

"Thousands of Murcia turn to these establishments during the holidays and our responsibility to the City Council is to ensure that, once again, we can enjoy the products and typical dishes from our garden with the comfort of knowing that they are, as always, they adapted and meet the sanitary conditions fully enforceable by law, "says Pelegrin.
