The Department of Administration Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation spent in the current year more than 10 million for the direct management of the municipal boards of districts, representing an increase of 32%, the most important in the history of the town .
Thus, the total investment amounts to 5,050,474, representing a 42% increase over 2015, while the total for current expenditure is 4,372,573.16, a 22% increase over last year.
These amounts must be added the funds allocated jointly by the Department of Modernization and Development in the new infrastructure plan in districts, called PIPE Plan, amounting to 1,353,000 euros.
In a firm commitment to decentralization, the Department of Administration Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation introduce new management tools, transparency and ease of access.
The councilman, Jose Guillen, explained that "this investment indicates the importance that the new municipal government team gives citizen participation and decentralization and the essential role that is assigned to the districts".
"What we want is to enhance the quality of infrastructure throughout the municipality and, therefore improve the quality of life of its neighbors. The own municipal boards will manage this budget prioritizing actions and carrying out works that are of maximum interest to the residents of each town of Murcia, "added Guillen.
Investment in municipal districts in 2016 will allow the creation of new works and improving paving, sidewalks and driveways.
