The City Council will promote a plan for social and urban rehabilitation of roads Sewer, El Palmar and Alicante on the initiative of the PSOE (19/03/2016)

Murcia City Council will undertake in the coming months a plan of social and urban rehabilitation in three areas of town that are very degraded: traditional entrances to the city on the roads of El Palmar, Sewer and Alicante.

And this, thanks to the motion presented by the PSOE in Parliament last Thursday, approved unanimously by all groups, which includes the development of a diagnostic study of the current situation in these urban areas, "identifying urban problems and social actions and proposing the same solution or improvement. "

The study will be conducted through a contest of ideas and sought to define these areas access to Murcia special protection, in order to subsequently approve action plans for comprehensive urban rehabilitation and social support.

The agreement also envisages plenary conduct a financial and technical report for the implementation of those plans.

Councilman Municipal Socialist Group, Enrique Ayuso, who was the promoter of this initiative, said that these three pathways "are avenues that do not deserve that name because of its low level: streets badly paved, narrow or defective sidewalks, poor lighting, neglect in electrical wiring, nonexistent or little vegetation maintained ".

The socialist mayor in plenary showed images of each of the affected areas, where buildings often appeared abandoned and in disrepair, industrial activities with an overgrown external appearance rather neglected and solar.

At present there are many examples of degradation suffered these areas, with signs of all kinds, no stops for public transport, lack of signposting information about important buildings or parking lots and seats, as well as shortage of elements ornament.

Ayuso said in his motion that "these suburban areas of our city, with an urban deterioration as noted, tend to be the residence of groups at risk of social exclusion, which are also necessary actions to facilitate social integration, employment or educational ".
