The University of Murcia (UMU) has today, in the hall of the building Rector Soler, a Spanish model galley eighteenth century, the work of Felix Moreno Sorlí, who has donated to the educational institution.
Reproduction, the result of research in the archives of the Spanish Navy, the French Navy and the General Archive of Simancas, will serve for the study of students in the Master in History and Naval Heritage UMU.
The director of the Chair of Naval History and the Master said, Professor Juan José Sánchez Baena, explained that "we for the first time in Spain with a model that faithfully reproduces this type of vessel", the Mediterranean boat par excellence from Age Media until the seventeenth century.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the rector of the University, José Orihuela, and Deputy Defense in Murcia, José Ignacio Martí, who have given to the author of the galley a commemorative plaque.
