The rector of the University of Murcia (UMU), José Orihuela, has presented a guide to career opportunities undergraduate degrees of the educational institution, in a ceremony attended by the Minister of Education and Universities, Maribel Sanchez-Mora today .
The guide, which is published in web version and update content in real time, is made by SIOC (Guidance Center and Employment Information) and promoted by the Department for Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment, whose responsible is the teacher Francisca Thomas .
"It is the mission of the University help young people in the challenge of access to employment and to that end, we provide you with a complete, accurate and current information about career possibilities of the different degrees of the UMU tool," said the rector .
Francisca Thomas added during the ceremony, framed in a conference on careers held at the Faculty of Education, the guide "can become a national benchmark for university labor market orientation".
For Sanchez-Mora minister, "universities have long ceased to be mere issuing of titles and initiatives such as this is a milestone in the activity that has been developing the COIE of the University of Murcia".
The president, meanwhile, noting the work of the SIOC, said that "improving the employability of graduates" is one of the "engines" of its mandate.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the intervention of the general director of the Regional Employment Service and Training, Alejandro Zamora.
