The International Congress Borges explores the literary legacy of author thirty years after his death (04/03/2016)

The Conference Hall of the Faculty of Arts will host between 7 and March 9th International Congress "Jorge Luis Borges: Fervor of memory", attended by several specialists in Borges literature to analyze issues not yet discussed in depth of his universe textual and to commemorate its validity as consecrated and universal author.

This conference is part of the series "Return of the living far", which adopts as the collection of poems title that Rafael Alberti wrote during his exile.

The opening ceremony will take place at 16:30, it will be chaired by Vicente Cervera Salinas, director of the cultural events, Diana de Paco Serrano, Director of Service Galdana Culture and Monica Perez Morales, Vice Chancellor for Culture, Media and Sport .

Thirty years after the death of Borges, this conference aims to investigate the literary and cultural legacy of his work.

In addition, it will deepen the slope of the author as a reader and a catalyst for the cultural tradition of the West, as well as its role as historical hinge between Modernism and Postmodernism, without neglecting its peculiar look to the classical world and European American humanism.

The conference was organized by the Classroom of Humanities at the University of Murcia in collaboration with the Music Hall and the Seneca Foundation, as part of Jiménez of the Sword Mobility, Cooperation and Internationalisation program.
