Murcia retrieves the size restored the Virgin of the Helpless to Valencia donated the Murcian town after the flood of 1957 (03/03/2016)

The next year, 2017, marks the 60th anniversary of one of the most historical events linked to Murcia: in October 1957 there was a tremendous flood that ravaged the entire city of Valencia.

The conservation status of the work was very poor, so it was subjected to a thorough physical chemistry that has allowed remove dirt and clean rusty areas.

"The restoration of the statue of the Virgin of the Helpless adds to the long list of works that have been recovered thanks to the work done since the Restoration Center throughout its 18 years of existence," said Arroyo, who recalled that "we are facing one of the best technical equipment centers throughout Spain, which allows to realize one of the goals set by the regional government, as is the conservation and recovery of our rich historical and artistic heritage".
