Education invests nearly two million euros in the expansion works of the CEIP Virgen de Guadalupe de Murcia (01/03/2016)

The Ministry of Education and Universities has executed more than 50 percent of the expansion works of the CEIP Virgen de Guadalupe de Murcia, in which about two million euros financed by FEDER funds are invested.

The Minister Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora visited this morning the works include the construction of 12 new units of Early Childhood Education and dining.

In this regard, Sanchez-Mora said the works have a lead time of seven months, and "respond to the demand for schooling in the area, given the high population already serving the CEIP Virgen de Guadalupe and commitment the regional government to increase quality standards in the regional education system. "

The new facilities will be integrated with existing and be built on a plot of over 11,000 square meters, of which occupy 8,000.

Thus, the actions equip the center of a new pavilion and improve its facilities for a more optimal development of teaching and student learning.

All rooms will give a unique courtyard, which facilitates care and monitoring of students by teachers.

Thus, the building will have four main buildings interrelated, that are happening and create covered porches that combine the set, creating a common central space.

The pavilion features 12 new classrooms, each two with bathroom.

Also it has a library, a classroom pedagogy and hearing and language, and other multiple uses.

In addition, the new facility will also have a dining room, which comes to close the central courtyard of the pavilion.

The design of the pavilion turn allow adequate natural ventilation, and orientation allows good control and use of natural light, resulting in eco-efficiency and comfort for the development of educational activity.

With this expansion, the Ministry of Education and Universities will respond to the demands of the teaching community and educational needs in the village of Murcia and nearby Guadalupe, where in recent years there has been a demographic increase in the child population.

For the development of the works, the Ministry told both the school management and the association of parents of pupils, which has maintained a fluid dialogue for the design and provision of this new educational infrastructure.

Thus, they have received information in advance and have been the first to hear about the project and its deadlines in early August.

More than 20 million euros in educational infrastructure

During the visit, Sanchez-Mora explained that "during this 2016 the Community will make educational investments exceeding 20 million euros in more than half of the municipalities in the region".

Thus, these actions "will allow improving educational facilities in our municipalities and further improve the quality of education in the Region of Murcia," he added.

In this regard, the minister said that currently being carried out works in schools with an investment of 6.5 million euros, to which must be added the investment for renovation of equipment and furniture, and improved computer center resources in order to bring wireless high-speed Internet to all schools.

In addition, the regional government has launched plans to improve quality canteens and school transport.
