Gender and public policy, subject of a course at the University of the Sea (05/07/2010)

Cehegín host, from 12 to 16 July, the second course "Gender and public policy: the budget with a gender perspective, to be held in the Municipal Archaeological Museum Library in the town.

Encompassed in the programming of the Sea International University, University of Murcia, the course aims to train future graduates regarding the importance of the design of all public policies from a gender perspective, as well as technical staff begin responsible for budgeting in the mechanics of gender-sensitive budget.

The course is directed by professors at the University of Murcia and Elena Gloria Alarcón García Quiñones Vidal, and includes among its participating teachers from the universities of Murcia, Complutense, La Laguna and Jaume I de Castellón, as well as representatives of organizations and institutions related to women and gender equality.

The inaugural lecture will be delivered by Elena Quiñones, Professor of Department of Basic Psychology and Methodology at the University of Murcia, while the closure will be borne by Antonio García Domínguez, AHIG, Association of Men for Gender Equality.

The course has a duration of 30 hours and has assigned three credits of free configuration.

Entries can be made until next July 5.
