More than 63,600 students supplement their training with activities organized by the Department of Education (04/07/2010)

A total of 63,655 pupils in the municipality have participated during the academic year 2009/2010, in activities organized by the Department of Education and Youth, directed by María Dolores Sánchez, in order to inform students different aspects of the city and their environment and complement their training.

These activities have involved students from 3 a18 years of kindergarten, primary, secondary, high school and Initial Vocational Training of 184 centers in the municipality, a 98.39% of existing centers.

The programs offered are:

"Know your city.

It introduces students to the opportunities offered by the city, discovering different aspects.

In this program, involving a total of 58,068 students in 187 schools and 2,461 have been carried out activities.

Within this program is:

Nature and Environment.

Promotes awareness and respect for environmental conservation, and affects pollution factors.

"Expression and Communication.

Students learn different artistic codes helping them communicate with others and promoting the use of imagination and creativity.

Activities have taken place as the show for 3 and 4 years 'Pinguin', the educational show-musical "Once Upon a voice ... the story, 'and' Where is Peter Pan?" Based on the work of writer James M.

Barrie.

"Science in Murcia.

The students have made small scientific experiments to spark their curiosity and interest in science.

-History and Art.

It has offered 16 activities with visits to the Museum of Santa Clara, Visitor Center of The Light and The Casino.

"The Consumer.

Students have learned to value a healthy and balanced diet and have visited Mercamurcia food drive.

-Education and road safety.

Students discover the importance of road safety and responsibility.

Contests are made drawings and stories, and workshops on road safety and environment.

Educational and Vocational Guidance.

This program provides information and guidance on resources, programs and initiatives offered by the municipality to its youth.

"Teaching values.

The aim is to develop the pupil's personality involving parents, students and educational community.

Have made projections of film and theater.

5,587 students participated from 60 centers and 219 are scheduled activities.

"Extracurricular activities.

Place outside school hours, are voluntary and may extend the cultural horizons of students and provide alternative leisure.

Have carried out scientific experiments workshops, theater and music.

372 students have participated in 9 schools.

"Leisure activities and free time.

Taking place at Christmas, with theater, film, Municipal Auditorium activities, city tours and nature, and summer camps, eight days in shelters and workshops on nature, sports, excursions, etc..

1,694 students have participated.

-Contests.

It has also been carried out by the Campaign Disclosure XVII Trovo International Day of Children's Rights, with the celebration of the Whole Child, and the European Day without my car.

-Seminars and lectures.

The Department of Education has also held during the 2009/2010 academic year, training seminars and lectures to parents, and training to the AMPAS the municipality.

It has also awarded grants to projects Associations and Federations of Parents.
