The tourist office in the city of Murcia, the best of the region in 2009 (29/06/2010)

The Director General of Tourism, Marina Garcia, presided today at the Tourist Center Qualification Award ceremony for Best Tourist Office 2009.

The award annually grants the General Directorate has fallen on its fifth anniversary in office of the city of Murcia, "one of the first members assigned to the network, which obtained the quality certification in 2003," said Garcia.

In 2009 was the number of tourist offices and information points attached to the network of Tourist Offices, 27 offices.

With regard to services, offered a total of 477,635 information services offices and 462,855 users were met in person.

The origin of users who visited the offices during 2009 was national, foreign and regional.

Nationals, the most numerous were the people of Madrid (42 172), followed by Barcelona (19 586) and Alicante (19 119).

Of the foreigners, mostly from the United Kingdom (82,411), Germany (16,006) and France (15,864).

Garcia recalled that the information requested in the tourist offices in 2009 was the tourist map, with 34 percent of total requests, followed by cultural information, city and holidays.

Objectives of the Branch Network

The Tourist Office Network is marked as the main challenges in 2010 a series of improvements to "optimize their service, based on improvement opportunities identified through the Mystery Shopper study conducted in 2009," said the CEO.
