The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, received this afternoon called Youth Cross, in an emotional ceremony at the Plaza Cardenal Belluga in Murcia.
The Mayor congratulated the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes, by the arrival of the Cross, which these days is touring the region.
Mayor House also thanked the hundreds of faithful who accompanied the Cross for a few hours to turn the city of Murcia at a party.
In fact, the symbol has toured several parishes Murcia.
Cross was given by Pope John Paul II to young people in 1984 and since then, the Christian symbol has crossed the five continents.
On Monday came to the region because it is a pilgrimage in Spain as a prelude to World Youth Days held in Madrid next year.
The arrival of the Cross took place at half past eight pm in the parish of Santo Domingo de Murcia.
From there began a procession to the Plaza Belluga, where the bishop presided over the Liturgy of the Word.
Subsequently, the cross was moved to the cloistered convent of Las Anas, where eleven at night they held a Holy Hour.
Beside the Cross also came to Murcia a sacred icon of the Virgin, that Pope John Paul II sent to the nations with that.
