UPyD affiliates in Murcia return to the polls Saturday to elect their Local Council (24/06/2010)

Rubén Juan Serna leads the nomination will have as main task UPyD's position as a third party town, ahead of IU, aiming to achieve representation in the city of Murcia in the next election

UPyD affiliates in the municipality of Murcia go back to the polls on Saturday 26 June to elect leaders of their local council.

The Assembly for the election of new Council will take place in territorial headquarters of the party in Murcia, from ten o'clock until two and a half later, without interruption.

Rubén Juan Serna heads, as coordinator and spokesman, the only candidate who is running.

Serna, member UPyD since early 2008, has served on the party's Territorial Council in February 2009, held positions as head of communications, and later responsible for electoral action.

He is joined on the list Fuensanta Max (head of organization), Encarnación Tornero (local politics), and Peter Nicholas.

The repetition of these votes is that on 24 April, the nomination submitted did not get the vote of half plus one of valid votes cast, as required by the internal rules of the game.

After the deadline for nominations, in which any member could run as coordinator, the list led by Serna, if you get the confidence vote of the members, will be responsible for leading the party into the next municipal elections in May , which aims to get representation UPyD in the Consistory of Murcia.

The new executive body of the party in Murcia's main task will consolidate its position as the third party town, ahead of IU, as recent polls put him in the polls.
