Music, film and dance to liven up the summer nights in Murcia (17/06/2010)

There will be four performances of bands, four groups, three of ballet and eight film screenings

Enjoy culture in the city during the summer months is something that can be done through the program that for the second consecutive year, organized by the Department of Festivals and Popular Culture, directed by Rafael Gomez.

The "Summer Murcia" hosts musical performances, dance and film have recently been in theaters.

The program, which will start next June 19 will be held at several places in the city during the summer nights.

All performances, which will be on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during June, July and August have free access to fill seats.

The Department of Popular Culture Festivals and installed for the film 600 chairs, 200 for performances of music bands and a thousand seats for concerts.

This raises a series of four concerts by musical groups and existing schools in our town; groups that bring together more than 1,200 people around the county, mostly youth, about the musical activity.

Band of the Youth Musical Group Cabezo de Torres, at 21 pm in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga.

Film music.

At 20 pm in the Plaza of the Red Cross serve the musical group The Muses of Guadalupe.

This action coincides with the beginning of the film program, so the program consists of works that are in movie soundtracks.

Pekenikes, which has the opening act of the ballet performance Mamen Artero.

The Pekenikes is a band that was born in Madrid in 1959, led by brothers Alfonso and Lucas Sainz.

For the band's multiple personalities have passed the 60's pop like John and Junior, Eddy Guzman, Felipe Alcover, José Ravine, Lucas and Alfonso Sainz, Pepe Nieto, Felix Arribas, Ignacio Martín Sequeros and even Luis Eduardo Aute, performing versions Anglo Spanish in many parts and conforming as a group definitely instrumental behind the success of "The four mules", in the mid 60's.

As a curiosity it is noteworthy that in June 1965 were opening for The Beatles in concert in Madrid after the landing of the English group in Spain.

Malevaje is a Spanish musical group tango, which emerged in 1984, at the height of the Madrid scene doing live performances in club El Saler.

The group was formed by Antonio germinal Bartrina as a leader and voice, Fernando Gilabert, Ramon Godes and Edi Clavo.

In its 25 year history, the group has opted for the traditional tango, but sometimes modernizing their compositions and even some fusion in search of a style, but without forgetting the roots of the genre.

Carmen Paris is a Spanish singer and songwriter born in Tarragona.

Their musical style is very personal, its constant mix of rhythms and fusion and mixing in their songs, make an artist difficult to categorize.

Since little musical talent was evident in the mid 90's is launching a modern cabaret show "Carmen Lanuit" written by Alfonso Plou, and is hired in the mythical club of Madrid Morocco.

The opening act will also be Mamen Artero.
