Sustainable Development Foundation was presented at a ceremony held at the Convalescence and has benefited from the intervention of the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, which will form part of the Trust.
Emilio Ballester, director of the Foundation, said that it was formed from the union of five associations to inform, educate and raise public awareness on sustainable development and to train professionals and promote research on this issue.
He added that the Foundation is open to anyone who wants to collaborate in their performances, which include the custody and management of land, development cooperation, the creation of sustainable municipal networks, promoting renewable energy and research and development AE techniques.
José Antonio Cobacho said his presence at the Foundation reflects the need of universities to establish itself as agents of sustainable development.
Besides Cobacho are members of the Board, among others, Benito Mercader, former director of Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning of the Region of Murcia and Domingo Jiménez Beltrán, former director of the European Environment Agency, who also participated in the act .
