44 Services organizes summer schools for more than 2,000 children in the municipality (15/06/2010)

The Department of Health and Social Services City of Murcia, who heads Fulgencio Cervantes, has as one of its targets for Children and Adolescents organize summer schools for children of different neighborhoods and districts of the municipality of Murcia, to provide continuity during the summer, leisure activities and leisure that are held throughout the year to improve the process of socialization and social integration of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

These activities offer children the opportunity to participate in an extensive program of recreational activities, sports and education, giving them the opportunity to:

At the same time, summer schools aim to promote the participation of groups, associations, organizations and volunteer work in the various neighborhoods and districts of the municipality.

Each summer school organizes various activities, which can be grouped into:

"Sports, Adventure and Risk

"Juggling workshops, tattoos, beads, leather, shirts, patterned, stamped envelopes, comets, recycling of materials, musical instruments, theater and body language, environment, dances, group games, Outdoor games.

"Pools, beach, ice skating in Elche, visit the firehouse and cultural visits.

All summer school will have a day of swimming a week, an outing to the beach and two cultural trips.

Summer Schools will be free, except Beniaján, where children who use the room will have to pay the amount thereof.

The recipients are children of the municipality of between 6 and 12 years.

Some summer schools are offered places for children from 3 years (The Ă‘ora, Cabeza de Torres, San Andres, Beniaján) and three others are for teenagers ages 13 to 16 years.

The number of summer schools this year amounted to 44, 35 of which are organized by the Department of Health and Human Services, and 9 in collaboration with associations and voluntary groups.

The total number of seats amounts to 2,010, of which 255 seats are those that offer voluntary groups, 1,319 seats out to public bid and 436 places are the Social Services reserves to meet the needs of those children who are participating in programs the Department throughout the year.

Of the 35 summer schools that are organized by the Department, 30 are organized exclusively from Social Services and five joint ventures with the Department of Festivals and Popular Culture.

Of the 44 summer schools, 28 are held in districts and 16 in the town.

Normal opening hours are from 10.30 has 13.30 h, although some have special hours, as in Beniaján, where dining places offer, extending the hours until 15 hours, or Ă‘ora, Cabeza de Torres which the hours are from 9 to 14 hours, while in San Andres hours are 8:30 to 14 hours.

Are booked through an agreement with the association ASPANPAL six places for children with hearing problems at various summer schools.

The partnership will provide monitors for better integration of these children in summer schools.

The allocation of places will be made by public ballot on 24 June at 11 hours in each Social Services Center.

The draw will be made by letter, from which they draw up the lists alphabetically by last name to complete the total seats available for each of the summer schools.

The lists of approved and accepted will be presented on June 25 at the registration points.

Summer schools will be held from 1 to 23 July and from 1 to 30 November.
