| José Ballesta will visit Castillejo de Monteagudo, where a geophysical survey will be carried out in this monumental setting | The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor for Pedanías and Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, and the mayor of Culture and Recovery of Heritage, Jesús Pacheco, will visit tomorrow the lower enclosure of the Mardanisí Palace of Castillejo de Monteagudo, where the field work prior to the restoration and recovery of this emblematic monument. Specifically, tomorrow a geophysical survey will be carried out with a terrestrial sounding machine that will show everything it finds below ground level through a screen, up to a depth of between four and five meters. The work will focus on the lower enclosure of the Mardanisí palace, the great unknown of this enclave, since it has never been excavated. During the event, which will take place at 10:00 a.m., information will be given on the actions that have already been carried out in this environment, which will be integrated into 'Las Fortalezas del Rey Lobo', the first medieval archaeological park made up of 150 heritage sites around the fortresses of Monteagudo Castle, Castillejo, Larache Castle and Cabezo de Torres Castle; a unique landscape, natural and archaeological itinerary in Spain of more than 1.5 million m2. Specifically, the project for the recovery of the lower enclosure of the Palacio Mardanisí del Castillejo has been recognized by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda with funding from the aid program '1.5% Cultural' and will involve an investment of 1 , 3 million euros, of which 881,000 will be financed by the State and 453,000 by the Murcia City Council.
