That is why ElTenedor, the leading reservation platform in Europe, has not wanted to stop recognizing one more year the work and quality of these restaurants through its TOP100 2020, a benchmark ranking in the gastronomic sector chosen by the diners themselves who book, enjoy and share their experience in the ElTenedor app and which this year is presented by American Express, as a sign of its commitment and support to the restaurant industry.
Based on their comments and evaluations, the prestige, work and dedication of the restaurants that have succeeded the most in Spain during this difficult year have been recognized.
To prepare this list, ElTenedor has taken into account different criteria such as the marks obtained by the restaurants during 2020, the volume of opinions during this year, the visits to the restaurant's file and the reservations generated.
In this way, the TOP100 restaurants are also part of the INSIDER selection of ElTenedor, which highlights the best restaurants of the moment, those that have stood out for something special, also including those awarded by the MICHELIN Guide in Spain.
This year, Cabaña Buenavista has topped the list of the TOP100 of El Tenedor, presented by American Express, in the Region of Murcia, a restaurant located in El Palmar and run by chef Pablo González.
His cuisine, recognized with two MICHELIN Stars, shows constant nods to Murcian tradition but with an extraordinary technical, creative and fun level.
A set of ingredients that have placed it as the favorite of Murcians in 2020.
On the other hand, the Community of Madrid, which leads the list, has managed to include 18 of its restaurants, 13 of them located in the interior of Madrid capital.
Among the restaurants that top the list in this region are Horcher (12) and Etxeko Madrid by Martín Berasategui (22).
However, it is the Cantabrian community that has the two favorite restaurants of the year: Casona del Judío (1) and Cenador de Amós de Jesús Sánchez (2), which also repeats this year.
This podium is completed by the well known restaurant El Portal del Echaurren by Francis Paniego (3) in La Rioja, also present in last year's TOP100.
Other restaurants that continue in the 2020 TOP100 are El Bohío (4), led by Pepe Rodríguez, winner of the last edition of ElTenedor's TOP100, and Martin Berasategui (6), who topped the list in 2018.
On the other hand Restaurants such as Raíces (10) remain on this list, recently awarded with its first MICHELIN star and run by chef Carlos Maldonado.
