| The initiative comes from the Central-East District Municipal Board and is carried out in the neighborhoods of Santa Eulalia, San Juan , San Bartolom and San Lorenzo | The Central-East District Municipal Board has developed for another year the campaign entitled 'A gift, a smile', which has allowed the distribution of 321 toys to children between 0 and 15 years old from vulnerable families in the municipality of Murcia who are served by the parish centers that C ritas Diocesana has in the neighborhoods of Santa Eulalia, San Bartolom , San Lorenzo and San Juan. The councilor for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, together with the councilor for Pedan as and Barrios, Marco Antonio Fern ndez, has supported this campaign and pointed out that “we appreciate initiatives like this one, which seek to keep the Christmas illusion alive in the children of the families that are going through the worst of the coronavirus crisis.

From the Government Team we will always support projects of this type that are full of solidarity and love ”. For his part, the president of the Central-East District Municipal Board, Lorenzo Tom s, has declared that “last year this solidarity event was completed with the realization of a parade that, among other places, visited the Mother Paula Shelter, located in the Barrio de la Merced.

This year, for safety reasons and following the instructions set by the health authorities, it will not be possible to carry out the solidarity parade, but the collaboration with their Majesties is maintained in the purchase of toys for these children that, this year more than ever, they deserve that the Magi remember them for how well they have behaved ”. The objective pursued by the Municipal Board with this campaign is to collaborate with the purchase of toys so that the children of families in need can maintain the illusion in these Christmas days. A solidarity Municipal Board This activity is part of the solidarity initiatives that the Central-East District Municipal Board carries out periodically to collaborate with those groups most in need. In this way, in 2020, I organized the San Lorenzo Solidarity Market, the sale of posters for Caritas, the donation of food to Jes s Abandonado, the participation in the Telemarathon of La 7 TV, in the one that contributed 300 kilos of food; the sale of solidarity Easter Flowers or the organization of events to benefit Aspanpal, with the flamenco performance called 'May my name not be erased from history'; or in favor of C ritas Diocesana, with the theater show 'Sombras', which was brought to the stage by the Compañía Herma.
