[The heritage of the city of Murcia disappeared (27/12/2020)

The architectural heritage of Murcia, over the last three hundred years, has not fallen alone.

The city had the best medieval wall in Spain and, while other walled Spanish cities respected the enclosure, growing outside the walls, in Murcia they decided to dynamite it.

Cardenal Belluga Square, with its 18th century Imafronte and Episcopal Palace, saw how the shovel reduced the baroque palace "de la Riva" to rubble to build a building "for the new times", the history did not matter, nor the splendor.

Sold historical set.

On February 9, 1933, the demolition of the V lez palace building, convened by the doctor and President of the Diputaci n, Alfonso Palaz n Clemares, at the same time the mayor of Murcia was looking towards Antequera.

It was Gaspar Blein Zarazaga.

The aforementioned only worked in Murcia for nineteen months, returning in 1950 to draft the General Urban Planning Plan, which opened the Gran V a and "loaded the Muslim Baths." After writing it, it disappeared again.

Like other collaborators in the destruction of the patrimony, we must say, as the old women of our villages say, God keep it in his glory.

The mayor of Valladolid was Domingo de la Villa and Fern ndez de Velasco (1917-1979), an army pharmacist with a lot of last name and little brain.A cacicada deprived Murcia of a national monument such as the Arab baths, those responsible enjoyed complete immunity after committing this attack.

Dozens of stately homes in the center of Murcia were not protected by those responsible, guarantors and custodians of the history of the city, they abandoned their functions or directly supported the destruction, among the missing buildings and spaces we must mention the following: Demolition of the convent of San Agust n.
