[A virtual choir of more than 200 people from different countries celebrates Christmas through the social networks of the City Council (23/12/2020)

| #MoreHispano, created by Cantor a, will perform the 16th century Christmas carol 'Sus, sus, sus', by Bartomeu C rceres | The virtual choir #MoreHispano, created by Cantor a, opens today through the social networks of the City Council with the interpretation of one of the most emblematic pieces of the repertoire of the vocal ensemble, the carol of the 16th century 'Sus, sus, sus' (fragment of La Trulla), by Bartomeu C rceres. The project, carried out in collaboration with the University of Murcia and the Murcia City Council thanks to the 'Cultural Reactives' program, through the Department of Culture and Heritage Recovery, has been very well received by Singers from all the world.

In total, more than 200 people signed up to participate in this choir, which will eventually feature singers from 12 different countries, such as Canada, Germany, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Morocco. Cantor a has its origin in the Orchestra and Choir of the University of Murcia: Jorge Losana (tenor and director of the group) and Valent n Miralles (bass).

This creation was also formalized after a course in Historical Singing organized by the University's Historical Music Workshop, taught by Gerd T rk from the Schola Cantorum in Basel. Specifically, the Virtual #MoreHispano choir is a Cantor a project for the dissemination of polyphonic Iberian Renaissance music, which has the support of other institutions, such as Europa Creativa de la Uni n Europea, EEEmerging + (Emerging European Ensembles), Acci n Cultural Española of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music, the Community of Madrid (Council of Culture and Tourism ), the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts, the University of Murcia, Early Music Project, the Center Culturel de Rencontre d'Ambronay (France) and the Centro Di Antica de la Fundaci n Ghislieri (Italy), VoctroLabs, the TROMPA project and the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona.
