[The plenary session approves studying the increase in aid to hoteliers and merchants (17/12/2020)

| The Popular Municipal Group and Citizens present two alternative motions to offer new subsidies and carry out campaigns to reactivate these sectors | The municipal plenary session has approved in its session this morning an alternative motion, presented jointly by the Popular Municipal Group and Citizens, and with the abstention of the Socialist Municipal Group, Podemos and VOX, thanks to which it will be studied the evolution of the pandemic and the incidence in the hospitality sector in the two months prior to the end of the first quarter of 2021, in order to assess new aid or subsidies to the sector that contribute to its reactivation.

Likewise, another alternative motion of the Municipal Popular and Citizens Group has been approved, with the vote against VOX and the abstention of the Municipal Socialist Group and Podemos, to include a new Plan Restart in the year 2021 to obtain Direct aid and subsidies to the commercial sector and to carry out new communication campaigns that have an impact on commercial dynamization throughout the municipality.

It should be remembered that the Murcia City Council has applied, since the pandemic began, aid to the hospitality sector that will save businessmen more than 3 million euros.

All these measures are included in the Social and Economic Reactivation Plan and among them, it is worth noting that in the second half of 2020 only 4 months have been charged and these four months have been charged at 50% .

In addition, the plenary session last October agreed that in the first half of 2021, hoteliers will not pay anything to install their terraces, regardless of whether they are open or closed.

This is in addition to the fact that only the minimum is charged for water and garbage when bars and restaurants are closed.

Thus, the ICIO has been reduced to 50% for adaptation works to comply with new regulations.

Likewise, employment aid amounting to one million euros has been approved, permits have been granted for the installation of terraces in parking lots and gardens and the activity license has been adapted so that leisure activity venues It would happen to be able to serve with tables without music.

The City Council has also launched actions to support street market traders and small businessmen.

In this way, the rate for special use or private use of the public road with weekly markets was reduced by 50% in the second half of 2020 in both rates, the same as that will occur in the first four months of 2021.
