| Faced with the decision to relocate the Cayam Infant School | Given the information published in the last hours about the relocation of the Cayam Infant School in Los Rectores, in Murcia, C ritas Diocese of Cartagena states the following: 1.

We reaffirm our commitment to promote the social activity of the Cayam Infant School with a transfer to new facilities provided by the Diocese of Cartagena, which meet better conditions than the current space in which it is located.

The building is properly prepared and equipped for the full development of the activity of this project, which happens to be located within a population center, which represents a substantial improvement with respect to the previous site, plus far away.

This transfer will allow us to delve into the dimension of authentic social integration that this project pursues.

The Cayam de C ritas Infant School is a family conciliation center that has three classrooms for educational services, a psychomotor classroom, a siesta classroom, a kitchen, a dining room, two warehouses, a playground, bathrooms adapted for boys and girls, and school transport service from 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., which allows responding to the needs of vulnerable working families in the municipality of Murcia.

The team of technicians and volunteers assigned to this project has the skills, training and capacity necessary to carry out their work, in accordance with the regional regulations for educational centers for minors from 0 to 3 years old.

The new facilities allow the reception of a greater number of boys and girls, and continue to offer a service in which demand has not stopped growing, with a continuous waiting list.

The children, as in the old facilities, will access the center through a school transport service enabled by C ritas.

This project is included within the actions carried out by C ritas Di cesis de Cartagena for the care and promotion of vulnerable children in the different stages of their development.

In addition, this resource allows parents to reconcile their family project and their professional development in the fight within a strategy to combat the intergenerational transmission of poverty.

C ritas Diocese of Cartagena remains committed to employment-oriented training.

To do this, it will maintain in the Cayam de C ritas facilities in its current location in El Palmar the activity of two programs: one of them aimed at young people who left the educational system on their way to training to expand their training and favoring guaranteed access to the labor market; and another aimed at adults with employability difficulties.

7.

C ritas Diocese of Cartagena has a firm commitment to the future of children in the Region of Murcia in a situation of vulnerability.

This is the reason why it allocates a quarter of its budget to social projects focused on the care and promotion of children in situations of vulnerability.

Investing in children allows us to break with the difficulties faced by a generation that has lived their first years in a home in a situation of poverty.

The educational reinforcement, the strengthening of family and social relationships, schools for early childhood education, family conciliation centers, play centers,Healthy leisure time activities and schools and summer camps serve to articulate a repertoire of support measures and C ritas monitoring for families at risk of social exclusion in the Region of Murcia.

We appeal to the social conscience of the Murcian citizens, who have given ample proof of their generosity and capacity for acceptance when it comes to supporting the work of C ritas and protecting the rights of people in a situation of exclusion.

Especially of all the "outcasts" of society referred to by Pope Francis.
