[San Jos de la Vega will open a new municipal center at the beginning of the year (10/12/2020)

| The facility will be located on the ground floor of the current city hall, with an area close to 60 square meters and direct access by Victoria Street | The residents of San José de la Vega will have a 24-hour study room with capacity for 30 people, located in the new municipal center.

The councilors of Pedanías and Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, and the Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, have visited the facilities today, which are already finished in the absence of the reception of the furniture. This action is framed in the Extraordinary Plan of Investments in Districts and has a budget of 222,882 euros.

Specifically, the project has consisted in the creation of a study space in the current mayor's office, of around 60 square meters and 30 localities, and the relocation of this in the old building of the center for the elderly in the district. The works are centered on the ground floor of the current mayor's office and the center for the elderly, both buildings have separate entrances with access from Sebastián Gálvez Arce street and are made up of two floors. "It is a question of dependencies demanded by the Municipal Board, which will allow a significant improvement of the services of the district.

The work is finished and, therefore, the objective of our visit is to supervise that all the works have been carried out according to the project and from there begin with the reception of the furniture and the rest of the services to conclude the installation.

We continue working with the creation of new municipal spaces that contribute at the same time to the structuring of the municipality and the improvement of our infrastructures ", has highlighted Marco Antonio Fernández.  The new study room will be managed by the Municipal Network of Study Rooms of Murcia (RMSE).

The head of this department, Mercedes Bernabé, recalls that "these spaces represent an important commitment to the education and training of our young people, who need fully equipped places for study, quiet and equipped with the maximum benefits". The new facility will have Wi-Fi, power outlets at the tables themselves, an integrated access control system via the internet, surveillance with a camera circuit, intrusion and fire alarms, air conditioning and lighting control and an SOS button with connection to a central receiving station.

On the other hand, the project includes the relocation of the mayor's office in the old center for the elderly, which will have a waiting room, three offices, a meeting room, a Caritas store, two warehouses and two toilets, one of them adapted. Likewise, general renovation and painting works will be carried out on the first floor of the senior center.
