'Disassembling the COVID-19', the informative day of the UMU to combat the SARS-CoV-2 (07/12/2020)

The event will be broadcast on Tv.um.es and will address multiple issues that have affected all sectors since the beginning of the pandemic and after the arrival of the second wave. The Vice-Rector's Office for Scientific Transfer and Dissemination of the University of Murcia (UMU), through its Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC + i) and aware that the coronavirus health crisis must be treated from an institutional perspective, organizes the informative day 'Dismantling COVID-19: Impact and effects on the population', which will be broadcast on Tv.um.es (https://tv.um.es/v?143242). Since the beginning of the pandemic, within the UMU and under the aegis of the Vice-Rector's Office for Scientific Transfer and Dissemination, numerous investigations have emerged to combat this health crisis.

A wide representation of these projects will be announced next Thursday, December 10, in a meeting whose objective is to transfer the latest advances on SARS-CoV-2, try to answer those questions that, from the beginning, have been emerging in the media, and propose possible solutions for those sectors that have been harmed. The many faces of COVID The day, divided into morning and afternoon sessions, can be followed live on the tv.um.es channel from 11:00 a.m.

to 2:15 p.m.

and from 4:00 p.m.

to 7:00 p.m.

In total, 13 researchers from the UMU will intervene to present some of the studies promoted by the institution. The activity will follow the following program: Morning shift: 11:20 h - 'The UMU in the face of the pandemic: fundamental aspects of SARS-CoV-2', by Alberto Manuel Torres Cantero, professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. 11:40 am - 'COVID-19, cardiogenetics and bad prognosis preachers', by María Sabater Molina, professor of Genetics and Microbiology. 12:00 h - 'The importance of understanding how an epidemic grows', by Antonio Guirao Piñera, Professor of Optics. 12:20 h - 'Mental health in childhood and adolescence during the pandemic according to health specialists', by Concepción López Soler, professor of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatment. 12:45 pm - 'Effect of age on SARS-CoV-2 susceptibility', by Victoriano Mulero Méndez, professor of Cell Biology. 13:05 h - 'You know, you feel, you do: communication in COVID-19', by José Carlos Losada Díaz, professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising. 1:25 pm - 'Coping strategies, personality and uncertainty: variables influencing the states of anxiety and depression during COVID-19', by Asa Isabel Rosa Alcaraz, professor of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatment. Afternoon shift: 4:20 pm - 'Impact of COVID-19 on hospital care', by Vicente Vicente García, Professor of Medicine. 4:40 pm - 'Gender and social confinement: lessons for public management', by Cristina Moreno Martínez, professor of Political Science. 5:00 pm - 'CONVIDA: Multidisciplinary data monitoring tool for COVID-19 in Spain, by Félix Gómez Mármol, professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. 5:25 pm - 'The necessary and urgent digital transformation of public administration in the face of the challenges of COVID-19: legal keys for a change in model', by Julián Valero Torrijos, professor of Administrative Law. '5:45 pm - Post-covid-19 Tourism: Reflections, challenges and opportunities', by Ramón García Marín, professor of Human Geography. 18:05 h - 'Broken clocks in COVID-19', by María de los Ángeles Rol de Lama, professor of Physiology. At the end of each session, the professor of Cell Biology and Histology and dean of the Faculty of Biology, Alfonsa García Ayala, will be the scientific coordinator in charge of moderating the final debate between the spectators and the different experts. The inauguration of the activity in the morning session will be in charge of the vice-rector for Transfer and Scientific Dissemination of the UMU José Manuel López Nicolás.

In the afternoon, the day will start from the hand of the rector of the UMU José Luján Alcaraz. This initiative has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) - Ministry of Science and Innovation.

As this proposal is intended to solve the broad doubts that the pandemic generates in society, all questions can be made through chat during streaming or social networks mentioning @UMUDivulga and including the hashtags #UMUdesmonta and # StopCOVID-19 .
