| The purpose of this initiative is to support people with greater difficulties of insertion so that they join the self-employment market | The Governing Board has approved the granting of a direct subsidy to the Red Cross, for an amount of 28,000 euros, for the start-up of the "Impulsa" project, whose purpose is to support the undertaking of people at risk of social and labor exclusion. Said proposal, promoted by the municipal service of Economic Promotion, led by Pedro Garc a Rex, has among its fundamental objectives to facilitate the employability of people with greater difficulties in accessing the labor market, through self-employment and the promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit in the area of ??the municipality of Murcia. For its part, the Red Cross has a prominent role in social intervention programs with people with the greatest difficulties through processes of social-labor integration.

A work that has been especially increased due to the pandemic, which has had a strong impact on important groups of the population, especially groups without the capacity to face the period of confinement decreed during the state of alarm. This situation of social emergency has made it necessary to have a system that gives an immediate response to the multiple requests for help that are being registered, both in the City Council and in other administrations and entities of the third sector, by of citizens of the municipality of Murcia. Thanks to this direct grant of an exceptional nature, the Murcia City Council is going to promote this Red Cross project to work with people in situations of social vulnerability with entrepreneurial skills and with the interest of carrying out a business idea and reduce social inequality.
