[The PSOE describes it as shameful that outside experts have to come to bring out the colors of the Ballesta team in mobility and urban planning (03/12/2020)

| Councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa assures that "if there was a real interest in solving the problem of public transport , the mayor would have convened the Transportation Board, which we have already requested on many occasions without success "| The Municipal Socialist Group claims to feel "ashamed" that we receive prestigious experts to a conference on the South Connection project, organized by the College of Architects, and show how bad decisions are being made, when are taken, in the municipality in terms of urban planning and mobility.

"We hope that the Ballesta government team will take note after they removed the colors yesterday." Specifically, the socialist councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa once again criticizes the government team for its management of public transport.

"They should wash their mouths the next time they talk about transparency and participation, we have been requesting the convocation of the Transport Table for months and requesting information and we are finding out through the Plan data press of Mobility that was commissioned at the beginning of this year ".

"The only objective of the PP in all municipal affairs is to silence criticism, specifically in transport, that Mayor Ballesta is letting die," explains Larrosa, who also clarifies that "it is the second time that the data, because they were presented in September, and they will confirm what we all already knew, that public transport in the municipality of Murcia is abominable and that nothing is being done to improve it.

" At the Transport Table, according to Larrosa, "we should be explained to the rest of the political groups, the conclusions of the Master Plan prepared by CARM and its consequences in the Mobility Plan of the municipality that is elaborating.

" In addition, it warns that "we need to know if the City Council is going to request European Next Generation funds for railway infrastructures, which would be very useful for the extensions of the tram".

Likewise, he explains, "we are not aware of the possible allegations to the Master Plan that highlights the inconsistencies in Ballesta's plans, and we fear that due to the neglect to which public transport is being subjected, the data that can be obtained in the study may be obsolete or flawed,to be carried out in exceptional circumstances, especially considering that the frequencies are not fully recovered ".

The councilor warns that "if there was a real interest in solving the problem of public transport, Ballesta would have convened the Table and would have kept the rest of the political groups informed, which we have already requested in many unsuccessful occasions ".

In addition, yesterday the College of Architects took the "shame" out of the South Connection project, not only in urban matters but in terms of mobility, for which the City Council does not have a backbone project.

"Yesterday they had to listen to experts from other cities and confirm what we have been saying from the PSOE for 25 years, the abandonment to which the PP has subjected the southern part of the municipality in terms of mobility and infrastructure, we had to listen to phrases such as that it is necessary to fight the car and always take away space, with mobility alternatives, and that with the project presented by the City Council new barriers were generated with roundabouts and lanes for the car, without spaces for restricted traffic ".

Therefore, the councilor wonders "What else does the government team need to understand that it does not have a mobility model for this municipality from a strategic and operational point of view.

" It also summarizes Ballesta's attitude that "basically the government team does not believe in public transport, understands it as a means for third-rate citizens and does not quite understand that it is a key element to have access to higher income, another factor that came to the fore at yesterday's panel of experts.

Since efficient public transport improves, among other aspects, the environment, the employability of citizens by having of more work options, and cheaper alternatives to travel to the work centers.

" Larrosa affirms that "the death of public transport in Murcia has a name and is called Ballesta, before he was in his position as Minister of Public Works and now as mayor by not assuming the powers of interurban transport or demanding corrective measures to solve the bleeding loss of travelers due to the bad service that is being offered ".

The mayor puts the focus of attention on the neighbors.

"We are aware that many Municipal Boards have approved motions to recover 100% of the frequencies of the buses in the districts.

The neighbors are asking for it, we do not know why so much neglect is due.

Someone I would have to explain it, but we continue with fireworks to hide this unfortunate management.
