The altarpiece ´Virgen de la Fuensanta with singing children´ by Antonio Campillo, a new piece in the permanent collection of the Museum of the City (02/12/2020)

| This has meant the modification of the exhibition space on the second floor of the museum that now houses a new museum design made by José María Nuño de la Rosa | The Councilor for Culture and Recovery of Heritage, Jesús Pacheco, has presented the new piece that is incorporated into the permanent collection of the City Museum: the altarpiece made by Antonio Campillo 'Virgen de la Fuensanta with singing children', from 1957.This new addition has meant the modification of the exhibition space on the second floor of the museum to house the new museum design made by José María Nuño de la Rosa. The piece, made of polychrome wood, was part of a historic building in Espinardo related to the custody of minors.

On December 20, 1922, the Murcia Juvenile Court was established and its offices were installed until 1936 in the Casa de Misericordia. At the end of the Civil War, the Murcia City Council made a donation to the Work for the Protection of Minors of a School Group in the vicinity of Espinardo in which the House of Reform of Our Lady of Fuensanta was installed.Later, the Court Observation House and the Family House would be installed in the same building.

There, in the chapel, in 1957, two altarpieces by Antonio Campillo were installed.

When that institution disappeared, one of those altarpieces, the one entitled 'Virgin with singing children', passed to municipal offices, until in 2009, it was located in the Hall of the Governing Board of the Town Hall.
