A forum will address topics of interest to improve services and quality of life for the residents of South Connection (01/12/2020)

The activity is free and will take place in two days, on December 3 and 9, through two modalities: face-to-face, with a maximum capacity of 36 people and for which it will be necessary to register at events.murcia.es, and online , with open access from the YouTube channel of the Murcia City CouncilThe Murcia South Connection project brings together social agents and neighborhood representatives from southern towns in a Neighborhood Forum to analyze topics of interest for the development and improvement of services and the quality of life of citizens, such as education, commerce, culture, tradition, interculturality, mobility and sports, among others.The councilors of Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, Desarrollo Sostenible y Huerta, Antonio Navarro, and Pedanías y Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, presented this morning, together with the presidents of the municipal boards and those responsible for each of the thematic, the activity that is part of the participatory process of South Connection and that will serve to give voice to the residents of the neighborhoods and districts of El Carmen, San Pío X, Barriomar, Santiago el Mayor, El Progreso, Infante Juan Manuel, Patiño, Nonduermas and Los Dolores."We are facing a project that will involve an important social, urban and economic transformation of Murcia, a project that will be developed based on the contributions of residents and experts in urban regeneration.

The objective of this Forum is to deepen and learn about the opportunities and difficulties of the area from the hand of people who are closely linked to economic, social and cultural activity and, at the same time, address the advantages that South Connection will entail for development of these neighborhoods ”, Mercedes Bernabé highlighted.For his part, Antonio Navarro has added the importance of involving citizens in the development of this project that is going to definitively transform the life of the southern neighborhoods of Murcia, "generating new free spaces and living areas, where green areas , trees and vegetation, will take on special prominence ”.

El objetivo es recabar ideas y propuestas que posteriormente serán evaluadas por parte de los técnicos competentes.Hay que añadir el Foro de Expertos que celebrará mañana en el Cuartel de Artillería y contará con la participación de algunos de los arquitectos más influyentes del panorama nacional e internacional, como son Ibón Areso, impulsor de Ría 2000 Bilbao, Francisco Burgos, responsable de Madrid Río, Enrique Bardají, de Mahou-Calderón, y José María Ezquiaga, de Madrid Centro.Toda la información sobre el proceso participativo, horarios y fechas de las actuaciones se encuentra en el portal web murciaconexionsur.es.
