Podemos requires Ballesta to pronounce on the issue of ownership of the acequias (30/11/2020)

The purple formation resorts to the argument made last Monday in the Finance Commission by which the government team rejected an allegation by Huermur that asked to withdraw the budget allocated to the maintenance of channels, ensuring that they are property of the Board of Landowners.

In this response, the City Council rejected the allegation, arguing that irrigators only manage these channels, but that, in effect, they are property of the council.

"The ditches are changing ownership from one day to the next, we ask the mayor to clarify this matter and to remove us from doubts regarding the ownership of the channels." Podemos is based on arguments used by the government team itself to consider that the council could be the one who decides what to do with the channels that are interposed in the continuation of the underground works.

These are stopped due to the lack of agreement between ADIF and the Board of Landowners on what to do with some channels that stand in the way to continue making the hole through which the trains must circulate. Last Monday the allegations presented to the municipal budget, recently approved, for the year 2020 were debated in the Finance Commission.

One of them was from Huermur, who asked that the item destined for the irrigation channels of the municipality be withdrawn, claiming that they are property of the Board of Landowners and, therefore, this body should assume that expense.

That allegation was rejected and answered with the argument that the channels belong to the City Council and that the Board of Property Owners only administers them. "With this argument in hand, we can think that the Murcia City Council could make a decision regarding the channels that interpose in the continuation of the underground works.

If not, we could conclude that the government team resorts to property when it suits you and where it suits you.

" For the spokesman of Podemos, Ginés Ruiz Maciá, you cannot govern "with these contradictions." If the channels really belong to the City Council, this dilemma is resolved.

"That the government team meet with ADIF, as it is obliged to do so by the motions approved in the October and November plenary sessions, and reach an agreement that benefits all Murcian women and stops bogging down the situation, ruining months of work and years of demands ".

If not,the consistory would have been falling into a crime of prevarication for years when allocating public money to a private entity such as the Board of Property Owners. From Podemos they ask Ballesta to "be clear, forceful and to act as mayor, beyond the photos and the staging in the parks and gardens." For Ginés Ruiz, the government team has to clarify this question, "because we are playing a lot at stake as a municipality.

It is clear that they have done something wrong, or remain impassive in the face of the mess of the ditches with the Board of Landowners, charging the problem other agencies, or diverting huge amounts of money to a private entity that would not be justified in any way.

Whatever the argument, we are facing a lack of responsibility, yet another, that leaves aside the neighbors to benefit some how many friends".
