The Language Clubs start with the participation of 400 young people (28/11/2020)

| In this edition the sessions will be prioritized so that they can take place outdoors | The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, yesterday visited the Language Club of Santiago and Zaraiche. This is how the twelfth edition of this initiative begins, thanks to which 396 young people between 12 and 17 years of age will learn to speak and communicate in English, French or German, completely free of charge, through non-formal, recreational and educational activities.

, gardens or outdoor annexes that provide a global experience that is both safe and hygienic for the participants.This proposal also allows the knowledge and care of the environment of the districts and of the city of Murcia itself, in addition to minimizing exposure to contagion agents in closed spaces.Each group is made up of 18 young people, constituted by age and divided into two subgroups, supported by a monitor and with the collaboration of young people who participate in European programs and initiatives."The Language Club makes it possible for the young people of the municipality to be interested in speaking other languages, to practice conversation, and thus, complement the language skills they acquire in their schools.

At the same time it makes them interested in European integration and the European exchange programs that the Murcia City Council develops with funding from the European Union, "said Councilor Rebeca Pérez.During the meetings, the control and prevention measures of the transmission of the participants and monitors will be respected, as well as the distancing and interpersonal protection measures that are established in the Protocol of Public Health Measures against COVID-19 for carrying out activities of leisure and youth free time in the municipality of Murcia.The new spaces where the Language Clubs will be developed are the Artillery Barracks, the Barriomar Day Center and the El Ranero Cultural Center, which are added to the following:585m2 Municipal Center, young spaceMunicipal Center La Nave, young spaceYoung Space Municipal Center of El PalmarAuditorium and Cultural Center of BeniajánLa Alberca Cultural CenterGuadalupe Cultural CenterCultural Center of Santiago and ZaraicheGarcia Alix Municipal CenterMunicipal Multipurpose Center of Cabezo de TorresCultural Center of Sangonera la VerdeIn addition, the Murcia City Council in collaboration with El Costurerico del Proyecto Abraham, has made double-sided cotton fabric masks with filters for each of the participants.

This mask will be used for the purposes of group identification and social awareness, being used during the sessions and at the entrances and exits of the activity.Atelier El Costurerico is a clothing workshop that promotes the social and labor insertion of women, through the enhancement of textile waste.

The people who work at Atelier El Costurerico are part of Proyecto Abraham's job placement project, whose objective is the incorporation into the labor market of people in situations of social vulnerability.

In the social clothing workshop they work under criteria of sustainability and solidarity, betting on a circular economy model that takes into account working conditions and respect for the environment.
