Cases of people with COVID-19 positives decrease at the University of Murcia (27/11/2020)

The figures of people with positive for COVID-19 at the University of Murcia show a decrease in recent weeks, according to data updated to November 25, both among staff and among students. There are currently 48 positive cases among the teaching staff and the administration and services staff; In addition, 55 cases have been reported of people confined due to being in close contact with people who have tested positive. With regard to students, at this time there are 330 cases of positive reported and 473 students considered close contacts with positives.

Around 30,000 people study at the University of Murcia, who this semester are studying in a blended-presence model as a preventive measure. The data has shown a significant decline since the first week of November.

In no case has it been found that the infections have occurred in the classrooms or activities developed at the University of Murcia. Since the beginning of the course, the University of Murcia has implemented prevention measures and action protocols have been activated in all areas to reduce social distances and avoid contagions.

The institution appreciates the efforts of all members of the university community, who with their responsibility have managed to control the spread of the coronavirus at the University.
