Mercedes Bernabé: "The PSOE tries to stop the participation of neighbors with false arguments" (19/11/2020)

| The surveys to which it refers are those that were used as a sample in the presentation and not those that are being distributed in shops, which include all data protection clauses | Mercedes Bernabé: "We respect that neither José Antonio Serrano nor the PSOE have made a single proposal, but what we are not going to allow is that they try to silence the voice of the more than 70,000 residents of the neighborhoods and districts of South Connection" The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, has lamented that "the PSOE tries to stop the participation of residents with false arguments." In this way, the popular mayor has responded to the criticisms made by the socialist spokesman, José Antonio Serrano. The PSOE distorts reality, since it bases its complaint on a ruse.

The surveys to which it refers are those that were used as a sample in the presentation and not those that are being distributed in the shops.

Of course, all surveys have the mandatory data protection clause, since the entire participation process is being developed with all scientific and technical rigor, as their actions are endorsed by the Territorial Innovation and Urban Development Research Group of the University of Murcia. Mercedes Bernabé, responsible for the participatory process of the Murcia South Connection project, explained that "we respect that neither José Antonio Serrano nor the PSOE have made a single proposal, but what we are not going to allow is that they try to silence the voice of more than 70,000 residents of the neighborhoods and districts of South Connection ". Bernabé has denounced that "Serrano criticizes a participation process that has as protagonists the people, associations and groups of the southern part of the municipality", explained the mayor. Mercedes Bernabé reminded Serrano that her group was informed of the participatory process from the beginning and, however, "instead of contributing and advancing jointly in this initiative, which only pursues the interest and well-being of Murcians, is dedicated to to put stones in the way and to publicize false facts ". For Mercedes Bernabé, "South Connection is a project that will unite neighborhoods and families, eliminate barriers and bring public services closer to neighbors, a project based on participation, since this mechanism is part of our DNA and our way of working, as we have already demonstrated.

" The popular councilor has indicated that "we have already conducted fifty individual interviews, we are in contact with the groups in the area, listening to their impressions and encouraging them to make their contributions, because what we are clear about is that the real protagonists are the residents of these territories.

We are working on an ambitious initiative that will also involve the youngest, with initiatives in schools.
