The festivals 'Animal Sound' and 'Fan Futura Fest' will raise awareness about the 2030 Agenda through the ODSesiones project of the UMU (19/11/2020)

| The public attending these events will participate in awareness-raising activities on waste management, climate change, equality or sustainability | The University of Murcia (UMU) and the music festivals 'Animal Sound' and 'Fan Futura Fest', which are held in Murcia and San Javier respectively, have signed two protocols of action to promote and raise awareness of the project ODSesiones al audience on the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In this way, awareness activities will be carried out on waste management, climate change, equality, non-discrimination, sustainability, renewable energies, poverty or responsible consumption, among other topics.

At the same time, young people will be encouraged to participate in solidarity projects coordinated by the more than 100 Murcian NGOs that currently collaborate with ODSesiones. These are two collaboration agreements that, over the next four years, will link the UMU with the companies Murentertainment and 5Elements AIE, promoters of these festivals to be held in 2021, after being postponed this year for health security reasons derived from the crisis of COVID-19. Specifically, the electronic music festival 'Animal Sound' will be held at the La Fica de Murcia fairgrounds on June 18 and 19, 2021, and will feature artists such as Natos y Waor, Angelfirst, Carlos Agraz, Javi Boss, Lorena Llanes or Don Flúor, among other artists. For its part, the first edition of the 'Fan Futura Fest' will be organized in San Javier next summer.

After postponing its first edition due to the pandemic, 'Fan Futura Fest' aspires to be at the top of the competitive panorama of summer festivals held in the Mediterranean arc. First time a DJ 'DJs' in Convalescence Precisely, the act of signing these protocols in the Convalescence building of the UMU has been enlivened by the DJ and producer from Albacete based in Murcia Rafael López, artistically known as Don Flúor. It is the first time that a DJ 'spins' music at the headquarters of the Rector of the UMU, which to date had only hosted classical music concerts.

Don Flúor has already collaborated with ODSesiones through the event for equality 'Enlazad @ s', held within the framework of SDG 5: 'Gender equality', in the Plaza de La Merced. A step forward in sustainability The rector of the UMU, José Luján, stressed that the signing of these protocols will provide the possibility of "sensitizing the young public not only in Murcia or Spain, but throughout Europe, so that they can convey a message of sustainability to their respective cities, towns or families to promote a profound change in our society together with the 2030 Agenda, the only roadmap we have to build a better, more equitable and just world ". For his part, the head of communication for both festivals, José Antonio Fernández, explained that "these firms arrive at the most opportune time" for the sector, since "cultural and academic institutions must be more united than ever." "Over the years our projects have managed to collaborate closely with local and regional governments in the development of cultural, as well as social and sustainable activities, now being the turn of the university community to complete this circle of action", he specified. SDG 11 The event was attended by the UMU rector, José Luján; the vice-rector for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Society, Alicia Rubio; the vice-rector for Social Responsibility and Transparency, Longinos Marín; and the coordinator of Culture, Francisco Caballero. The 'Animal Sound' and 'Fan Futura Fest' festivals were represented by their directors Álvaro Vargas and Juan Alberto Conesa, as well as by the communication manager of both festivals, José Antonio Fernández, and José Manuel Jiménez, marketing director of 'La Truth 'and responsible for sustainability and parallel activities of' Fan Futura Fest '. This event is part of the November 2020 activities of ODSesiones, a month dedicated to SDG 11: 'Sustainable cities and communities', and which are hosted by two UMU faculties: Informatics and Tourism and International Relations. This UMU project, which runs from February 2019 to November 2021, has the support of the regional government, Aguas de Murcia, Bankia and the Cajamurcia Foundation.
