| The works project seeks to improve the safety of cyclists by eliminating the subsidence caused by the floods of the Segura River | The Department of Sustainable Mobility and Youth has prepared the project for the repair works of the bike lane on the Segura River, left bank, the section between Avenida de Alquerías and the MU-303 regional road.In this way, the current damage will be repaired, consisting of widespread subsidence in the pavement along the section and which has been increased by the flooding of the river.
This will guarantee the safety of cyclists who use this road.The section to be rehabilitated measures 110 meters in length with a width of two meters and the works will consist of complete demolition, excavation of the base and sub-base to a depth of 40 centimeters and the laying of a base layer of 30 centimeters of artificial gravel.In addition, the lane will be delimited by placing concrete curbs on both sides, the entire section will be marked horizontally and drainage will be improved under the new access bridge to Alquerías.The City Council will invest a maximum of 20,022.21 euros in these works, which will take place within a month.
