The City Council advances to achieve a 100% ecological taxi fleet (13/11/2020)

| The Governing Board approves the call for the concession of 150,000 euros in subsidies for the acquisition of eco and zero emissions taxi vehicles | The Governing Board has approved the call for the granting of subsidies for the acquisition of eco and zero emissions taxis, in which it will invest 150,000 euros.In this way, it is intended to promote the progressive replacement of vehicles used for taxi services by others with low or zero emissions, with the aim of reducing the pollution produced by them by 50% in 2030 and 100% in 2040.This call seeks to promote compliance with municipal objectives that regulate the reduction of gas emissions and the use of clean energy, in accordance with the applicable sector regulations.The maximum amount to be received will be 7,000 euros for the acquisition of Zero emission vehicles, 6,000 euros for the acquisition of hybrid-type ECO vehicles and 3,000 euros for the acquisition of ECO vehicles type LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) or GCN (gas natural compressed).The deadline for submitting applications will start from the day after publication in the BORM and will run until February 15, 2021The beneficiary must meet different requirements, including being the holder of the license of the car taxi vehicle, being registered in the municipality of Murcia or exercising their activity exclusively in the municipality of Murcia, and not having passed less than four years since the last aid grant for it.Within this line of action, the aim is to follow the policy of promoting financing to the aid fund for the acquisition of Zero and Eco emission vehicles, cleaner and less polluting in order to gradually renew the fleet of vehicles used for taxi service, with the benefits that this entails for the city.It should be remembered that the Murcia City Council has drawn up its Climate Change Mitigation Strategy 2030, and within the framework of it, investment in electric charging stations for electric vehicles is being increased, as well as different promotion measures for the acquisition of zero emission and eco vehicles, electric bicycles and scooters, as new models of personal mobility.
