# MurciaMiCiudadEnseña starts with a school visit to the Real Casino de Murcia (11/11/2020)

| Students of Primary 4 of the Andrés Baquero school know the history of this emblematic building, a meeting point for social gatherings and cultural meetings | The Councilor for Education and Early Childhood Schools, Belén López, today accompanied the 4th grade students of Primary Education from the Andrés Baquero de Murcia school on their visit to the Real Casino de Murcia, the first activity of the # MurciaMiCiudadEnseña 2020-2021 educational program.Schoolchildren have walked the corridors and rooms of one of the most unique and emblematic buildings in the city, a meeting point for social gatherings and cultural meetings.

The objective of this visit is to work on the ability to observe, learn about the development of cultural and social life in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, use reading as a source of information, learning and personal enrichment and value artistic manifestations and heritage of Murcia.“This activity is a unique opportunity for students, since they can delve into history, learn the social composition of the time and the different rooms set in different artistic styles, such as the Arab Patio, the Fishbowl Room, the Library Inglesa, the Ballroom, the French Billiard Room and the Ladies' Dressing Table, putting their imagination, fantasy and visual acuity to the test ”, highlighted Belén López.The visit has been adapted to the protocol established to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Thus, the participation was carried out in groups of 6 people, keeping the distance and taking the temperature at the beginning, as well as the mandatory use of a mask and hand hygiene both at the entrance and at the exit.For the mayor, "Murcia is a city with corners full of history, which offers thousands of learning opportunities and helps students to get into their environment in a more direct, experiential and unique way."The City Council, through the Department of Early Childhood Education and Schools, develops each year the # MurciaMiCiudadEnseña program for children in Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate.The Education Service is working on adapting the program to the Covid-19 situation, taking into account current regulations and health requirements, giving priority to those actions that guarantee the safety of all students.Therefore, the indefinite opening of the registration period has been agreed in order to serve all centers, according to their needs and the evolution of the pandemic.
