Diagnosis at the click of a button in times of pandemic (10/11/2020)

The La Estación Community Center, managed by Fundación Cepaim, has just launched "Do you know your town?": An online survey with which it intends to delve into the diagnosis of the Beniaján area in terms of associations.

It is aimed especially at adolescents, although it is open to the participation of anyone.

The objective is, on the one hand, to detect lack of attachment to the territory and youth leisure in this part of the municipality of Murcia; and on the other, supporting the network of associations, recreational entities and cultural facilities existing in the locality in these times of special difficulty.

Most of these institutions are making a great effort to continue offering safe activities to the population, adapting them to health limitations. For months, social distance and confinement have been marking our day to day, but there is also much reflection on the unprecedented context towards which we are heading.

In this new paradigm, the socio-cultural facilities and the local associative fabric play a fundamental role as generators of local leisure and more immediate support for neighborhood culture.

These institutions have been severely affected by the pandemic, some of them paralyzing their activity or trying to adapt to the situation by forced marches.

But in all this transforming process they cannot walk alone, nor is the support that the administrations can provide them enough, but the citizens themselves for whom they work must also be involved.

Thus, from La Estación it is considered vital to maintain open channels with the population and especially with the youth of its area of ??influence: so that communication flows and ideas and creativity become unconfined. The results of this survey will help to assess the perception that the neighborhood in general, and the youngest in particular, has about the possibilities of the place where they live, as well as collect suggestions to improve it.

This diagnostic and awareness-raising work is part of the Redes Sur project developed by the La Estación Center this year with the support of the Cajamurcia Foundation and Bankia. The link to the questionnaire is available on the web: http://laestaciondebeniajan.com/portfolio/conoces-tu-pueblo/
