For this reason, we are expanding the social network of the Murcia City Council, with more means and resources that allow us to intensify the attention and assistance work, "said José Ballesta, who added that" this new Social Care unit in the North area It will cover the residents of Zarandona, in addition to the 40 units distributed throughout the municipality.From the new unit, in addition to the Social Care program, the Socio-educational Care, Psychological Care and Legal Care programs, Care for People in a Dependency Situation, Care for cases of Child Unprotection (EDI), Community Care and Attention to Children and Adolescents.More than 48,000 cases throughout 2020Until September, Social Services has attended 48,194 cases by appointment, by phone, exceeding in more than 8,100 the cases attended with respect to the entire year 2019, when 40,063 were registered.

Specifically, in the district of Zarandona, from January to September 2020, there have been 568 cases attended to - when in 2019 377 were attended throughout the year.3.4 million euros in aid for vulnerable families since the start of the pandemicThe City Council has made more than 3.4 million euros in aid for vulnerable families since the start of the pandemic.
