Lili will travel to the classrooms through a new online educational platform to bring environmental education to schoolchildren (10/11/2020)

| Although the pandemic prevents the face-to-face development of the 'Murcia sustainable city' program, the City Council has created a bilingual virtual environment, designed by a specialized team that includes a gamification section | The Murcia City Council, through the Department of Sustainable Mobility and Youth, together with Ferrovial Services, and the Department of Education and Infant Schools, has created 'El Mundo de Lili', a new online educational platform that seeks to bring environmental education closer to the students of the municipal schools, making them aware and sensitive to an active participation in caring for the environment and offering resources that allow knowing and putting into practice the guidelines of the Circular Economy and its relationship with waste. This new educational tool has been presented by the councilors Rebeca Pérez and Belén López Cambronero who have been accompanied by Rubén Escavy, president of Direcmur and director of CEIP Federico de Arce; Adelia Gálvez, vice president of Direcmur and director of Cierva Peñafiel; Shaila Perán, director of the La Arboleja school; Carmen Nicolás, secretary of ADEIP-RM and director of CEIP Virgen de Guadalupe, and Carmen Sola, member of ADEIP-RM and director of CEIP María Maroto. With this, the two entities adapt to the new situation caused by Covid-19, thus betting on maintaining the school awareness campaign 'Murcia sustainable city' that had been developing in schools with high participation, being able to reach the classrooms virtually. In this way, schoolchildren can participate in sessions led by environmental educators and get to know the Cañada Hermosa waste treatment center virtually. The schools that are interested in this platform can now request information and participation by entering the page www.mundodelili.es.The contents of the platform, adapted to the curriculum of the second section of Primary Education, have been designed by experts in environmental education and waste management, a multidisciplinary team focused on turning the platform into a tool that is part of the actions that help transmit and meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. The common thread of the platform is a character created in 3D, the eco-elf Lili, who will be in charge of transferring all her knowledge to the children in a pleasant way.

They will spend with Lili 'A round day' through a trip on Circular Economy and the R's of ecology, where they will learn, among other concepts, the importance of reflecting, recycling, reusing, repairing and recycling, creating a metalanguage of waste .Gamification and bilingualismTo absorb all these concepts shown in the videos, a part of gamification is used in which, through a series of mini-games, students are able to show greater interest and become involved in the achievement of objectives on the subject. The videos also become a support for bilingualism that is currently being worked on in educational centers, since they offer the possibility of listening to them in Spanish and English, in addition to choosing the subtitles in both languagesAmong the games stand out 'Solve and Win', which consists of questions about waste treatment and Cañada Hermosa, or the 'Ciclojuegos' where a place is created to learn about waste, its management and its position in the circular economy in a way pleasant and friendly. It also includes a series of interactive images where the ins and outs of Cañada Hermosa can be carefully explored, as well as a section with curiosities, awareness and awareness ideas or a test to calculate the ecological footprint that we leave on the planet. The technical and creative design of the platform has had the participation of a team specialized in the fields of audiovisual, 3D design, video game programming and web design, which has allowed to create a visually attractive space but without neglecting usability. This facilitates and stimulates learning, thus becoming a useful resource for both teachers and their students, through its own information dynamics, videos and games, which facilitate learning. The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez has indicated that "this new platform was born with the vocation of continuing to collaborate with the educational community on these fundamental environmental issues today.

The current health crisis prevented the full development of the campaign the previous year and now we continue with the commitment to environmental awareness, in the protection of our environment and the active fight against climate change ".Although the website has been specially designed for the second section of Primary Education, it is versatile and can be adapted to other levels, even older audiences. The active and interactive participation of the monitors in the directed sessions, complete the information on the platform, proposing subsequent activities and recommendations that complete the activity, providing added value to it."This course, as in the previous ones, we want to continue collaborating with all groups that are interested in caring for the environment, inviting the educational community and society in general to participate with us.

Actions, even if they seem small, always they contribute to the sustainability of our local and global environment ", pointed out Pérez. For her part, Belén López, Councilor for Early Childhood Education and Schools, highlighted "the importance of raising awareness and educating children in caring for their environment through creative and fun tools that promote learning and at the same time game".More than 13,000 students last yearDespite the pandemic, which caused the activity to cease, the training action reached 13,327 students from the second section of Primary Education last year -until March 12- at schools in the municipality of Murcia. Thus, the talks in the first term reached 90 schools, transmitting the message to 3,109 4th grade students with the activity 'A round day with Lili', which introduces children to the world of waste and street cleaning, and 3,019 of 5th year with 'Learn with Lili about waste', where the students were able to see the video, completed with the information and activities carried out by the monitors who lead the activity. At the end of October, the campaign 'Encesta glass, we win all' also took place, which was carried out in 9 schools with 800 students. At the end of 2019, the traditional drawing contest took place, in which about 16,000 "Lili eco-assistants" from 138 centers in the municipality of Murcia contributed their creativity and ideas to recycle correctly.
