With the signing of this agreement, these facilities will be equipped with computer equipment so that older people can become familiar with technology and learn to carry out online procedures or maintain contact with their social environment virtuallyToday the Governing Board has given the green light to the collaboration agreement with the Cajamurcia Foundation that will allow the implementation of a content digitization plan that includes the acquisition of computer equipment for installation in the Social Centers for the Elderly of the municipality.This agreement, which involves a contribution from the entity of 20,000 euros, will allow the development of these facilities and bring new technologies closer to the elderly so that they can learn to carry out online procedures or maintain contact with their social environment in a virtual way, avoiding the isolation of this group, which has been aggravated in times of pandemic. Said agreement, which will be in force until the end of the year, will mean progress in the process of modernization of social centers undertaken by the Department of the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, led by the mayor Paqui Pérez, to develop actions for the benefit of all the older people of the municipality, on this occasion, aimed at alleviating the digital divide and improving their technological capabilities.
