A score of artists show their works in the Almudí Palace (05/11/2020)

| Today the exhibitions 'Interruptions: Suspended Time' and 'The closure of wonders' are inaugurated, which can be visited on January 10 with all security and cleaning measures | From today until January 10, the Almudí Palace will host two new exhibitions that will show the works of a score of artists.

On the one hand, 'Interruptions: Suspended Time' is inaugurated, in the Columns Room, and, on the other, 'The closure of wonders', in the Upper Room.The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, has indicated that "both shows are included within the new model of cultural management that we promote from the City Council and that revolves around the support of artists and creatives in all stages of their professional development making Murcia a benchmark on the national scene ".The two rooms are equipped with everything you need to offer a safe visit following strict cleaning controls.The first of them, curated by the 1erEscalón collective, includes the works of Lorena Amorós, Eduardo Balanza, María Carbonell, Miguel Fructuoso, Coco Guzmán, Ana Martínez, Javier Pividal, Sergio Porlán, Lorenzo Sandoval and Virginia Villaplana.The project, led by the Murcian curatorial group and with which a rereading of suspended time is sought, is part of the work that they have been developing for years on the ability of art, through different poetics and representations, to propose new ways of understand the weather.In it, the ten participating artists address, from their personal approaches, the question of interruption, at a time, that of the COVID19 pandemic, in which the world has been stopped, paralyzed.1erEscalón is a curatorial group formed by Isabel Durante, Ana García Alarcón and Miguel Ángel Hernández, PhDs in Art History from the University of Murcia and from the Complutense University of Madrid.

They have developed curatorial, critical and cultural management work in the field of contemporary art.

Currently, they are investigating in lines related to identity and memory politics, developing projects in this sense.In addition, they have launched the Archive of Visual Artists of Murcia and the programming of the independent space AB9 (Murcia) and have directed the cycle of conferences Oficios de la Cultura that has had different professionals of contemporary culture, as well as different courses of current art for the CAMON space.On the other hand, the Almudí shows 'The encierro of the wonders', an exhibition curated by Mónica Lozano and composed of the works of Andrea González, Matías Pérez de Juan, Gema and Marina Carpio, Fátima Ruiz, Cleo Pan, Elena Sol, Pascual Martínez, Vincent Sáez and Selu Herráiz.This exhibition includes eight photographic projects and one videographic project that have been made in their entirety during confinement by young Murcian visual creators.

Each of them has been selected, among many others, for representing in an exemplary way some of the specific creation processes of contemporary photography and attending to a projectual will aimed at signifying creation beyond the pandemic.Divided into two blocks, the exhibition is structured according to a basic criterion: In the first part, those documentary images are collected, since all of them occurred in an original way in front of the camera while in a second block those authors who resigned are grouped to generate their own photographs and chose to recover their own files and modified them and intervened graphically.As an epilogue to it, a video piece made by Selu Herráiz is presented, which investigates essential questions regarding being immersed in nature during confinement, using a strategy that combines fiction documentary and performance and according to which the The author in turn becomes the protagonist of the visual narrative while the performance is recorded.Both exhibitions can be visited from Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m.
