| José Ballesta chairs the Board of Directors of the Food Logistics Distribution Center | The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Commerce, Markets and Public Roads, Juan Fernando Hernández, chaired the Mercamurcia Board of Directors today, which was held by videoconference and in which they reported on the progress of the Food Unit, specifically, on the good performance of the Fruit and Vegetable Market, with an increase in the volume of commercialization above 15%, compared to the same period of the previous year.Despite the extraordinary circumstances generated by the pandemic, occupancy at the Food Logistics Distribution Center is currently at levels above 96%, evidencing MERCAMURCIA's good strategic position.This Council has also been awarded contracts for the supply of electricity and natural gas for the next two years, as well as the supply and installation of luminaires with LED technology in the Cárnico Complex.

With this latest award, progress is being made in MERCAMURCIA's Energy Efficiency Plan, which, through these actions, provides for a reduction in electricity consumption with the consequent reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and the least environmental impact.Following the Action Plans reflected in the Strategic Plan, the specific specifications have also been approved to carry out the tender for the contracting of the construction of two multipurpose buildings of 2,400 m² and 315 m² and a Photovoltaic Plant on its roofs of 500 KW for self-consumption.

This project, and due to the high occupancy level of MERCAMURCIA, will allow to have more spaces for the development of the different activities present in our Center.

With the installation of the photovoltaic plant, the production of which will be added to that currently installed, close to 85% of all the equivalent consumption of MERCAMURCIA will be reached, consolidating the company's commitment to renewable energy.
