UGT rejects the commercial opening on Monday, November 2 (31/10/2020)

| In such a critical health situation that we are living in the Region of Murcia | The Federation of Services, Mobility and Consumption (FeSMC) of UGT-Región de Murcia does not understand the decision taken by the Murcia City Council a few days ago, giving the option that the shops and Shopping Centers of the city of Murcia can open next Monday November 2nd. That day, said City Council declared it a holiday in the city, in exchange for the local holiday of the Bando de la Huerta day due to the epidemiological situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Murcia trade workers have the right to rest and enjoy their family that day, since for that it has been a holiday in the work calendar. For UGT, this decision of the Government team of the City Council of the capital is totally incomprehensible and it is also not explained in the current context of a state of alarm and perimeter closure of the municipalities of the region.

Only a few hours ago that the entire Region of Murcia has been in a situation of limited movement of people between all municipalities. We do not agree to this opening, even more so when the Murcia Ministry of Health tells us that we have to avoid traffic as much as possible, an obligation that collides head-on with the opening of shops on holidays.
