The Foresta Plan starts in the educational centers of the municipality (30/10/2020)

The months of November, December, January and February are already planned, to which 28 schools will be added.More than 11,000 children will participate in the first phase of Plan Foresta in educational centers."The actions that are part of the Foresta Plan allow children to develop social conscience at the same time that care for the environment is instilled in them and a feeling of belonging to their school develops in them that will accompany them throughout their lives", Councilor Belén López has highlighted.The order of plantings in schools will be rigorously retaken according to the list established before the Covid-19 crisis.

Schools that want to participate in the Plan Foresta can request it by writing an email to planforesta2030@ayto-murcia.es.To expand the information on the Foresta Plan, you can visit the website www.murcia.es/planforesta2030.The plantations will be carried out according to a technical assessment, in which the type and number of trees will be decided.

Leafy and native species such as Bananas, Mulberries, Hackberries, and others such as Paulonias or Kiris will be planted.José Guillén has pointed out that "the action of planting a tree makes the little ones active agents of this plan, that they have a feeling for improving the municipality of Murcia and all of this leaving a good deed for future generations as a legacy.

The Forest Plan in schools it has numerous health benefits, such as reducing stress and improving oxygen quality.

"Promotion of social awareness and care of the environmentAmong the objectives that the Foresta Plan aims to fulfill is the promotion of social awareness among students and caring for the environment through meaningful learning so that children become active agents working to improve neighborhoods and districts in Murcia.

.This initiative is linked to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals that mark the Urban Agenda 2030.

Specifically, this plan contributes to fulfilling those related to quality education, gender equality, sustainable cities and communities, action by the climate and the life of terrestrial ecosystems.The plantations respect the protocol against CovidFor the plantation, a Covid protocol will be followed, respecting all the security measures established by the educational center.

The maximum number of children that can go out per class is 20.The contingency plan will also be transferred to the tools used for the plantation and sanitary measures will be adopted such as the use of gloves and hydroalcoholic gel.Plantations carried out before the state of alarmOf the 11,000 children who have participated in the first phase of the Forest Plan in educational centers, 235 trees have been planted before confinement in 9 schools in the municipality and 3,039 children from educational centers have benefited:CEIP Painter Pedro Cano de El Palmar, CEIP Juan Carlos I de Llano de Brujas, CEIP Juan XXIII de El Ranero, CEIP Our Lady of La Arrixaca de Vistalegre, CEIP San Andrés, CEIP Doñana de la Albatalía Bridge, CEIP Francisco Salzillo de Los Ramos , CEIP Sagrado Corazón de Zeneta and CEIP Juan de la Cierva de Casillas.
