PSOE and Pro Soterramiento Platform agree that the space freed from the roads should serve to connect and not to separate again (24/10/2020)

"We will do what is necessary so that the second phase of the burial is expedited as much as possible and we will be vigilant that with regard to the City Council the procedures are carried out on time" José Antonio Serrano, socialist spokesmanThe secretary general of the PSRM, Diego Conesa, the socialist spokesman of the Murcia City Council, José Antonio Serrano and the councilor Enrique Lorca met last Thursday with representatives of the Pro Burial Platform to hear their concerns about the state of the works and the future of the burial.

Both the representatives of the socialist party and those of the Pro Burying Platform agreed that the space freed from the roads should serve to connect, structuring the population and not separating it again.Serrano expresses his satisfaction with the result of the meeting “we are pleased to be in tune with the neighbors.

We believe that the best project for the area freed from the roads is the creation of a large boulevard, a wide, green and open space that leaves behind the times when neighbors were separated from each other ”.

The socialist spokesman insists that "the design and urbanization that remains after the burial has to make Murcia more sustainable, friendly and ecological."One of the aspects in which Plataforma and PSOE coincide is in the participation of residents and the transparency of the process.

“The platform wants them to be consulted about the permeability of the terrain above the tunnel.

It is essential that the project be participatory and that neighbors are heard, not as in black stages in the history of the roads.

We can't afford to ignore your claims after all we've been through.

Now is the time for consensus and participation and from the PSOE we promise to be vigilant that this is fulfilled, ”says Serrano.

“The neighbors have requested up to two meetings with the mayor and today they have not been able to be attended to.

We are going to demand that Ballesta rearrange his agenda.

You may have to change the opening of a park for a meeting with your neighbors,As crazy as it may seem, ”insists Serrano.During the meeting, the representatives of the platform expressed their concern about the situation in which phase 2 of the burial is currently located, from Barriomar to Nonduermas, due to the different problems that have arisen.

In reference to this, Serrano agrees to “work with all the organizations, companies and institutions involved, including the City Council, so that they remedy as soon as possible the inconveniences that have arisen and that the burial continues until Nonduermas, as in the PSOE we have bet from the first moment ”.On the other hand, the socialist spokesman recalls the commitment of the Government of Spain to the burial project, “this was demonstrated at the time by both Pedro Sánchez and Diego Conesa in their work as Government Delegate, who achieved in six months what governments of the PP they were not able to do in years.

As of today, the commitment of the Government of Spain is firm, as demonstrated by the large investment in this infrastructure ”, underlines the municipal spokesperson. The socialist spokesman ends by recalling that “the burial is the only real municipal project in Murcia and that it will transform the southern neighborhoods that have been forgotten by Ballesta.

And it is fair to remember that it has been possible thanks to the neighborhood demands for years and a government that has listened to them ”.
