The Libraries of Murcia invite you to visit ´The planet of books´ (22/10/2020)

| The José Saramago Library hosts this photo exhibition by Beltrán Sánchez, member of the library's reading club and professor of audiovisual culture at the IES Ramón y Cajal of Murcia | The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, today inaugurated the exhibition 'The planet of books', at the José Saramago Library, an activity framed in the events scheduled on the occasion of Library Day, which commemorates the Saturday, October 24.The sample consists of 12 color photographs taken by Beltrán Sánchez, a member of the library's reading club and professor of audiovisual culture at the IES Ramón y Cajal in Murcia.

The collection reflects that space and meeting place where readers meet to discuss and share impressions about a literary work.“The reading clubs are meeting points in high demand by the users of our libraries.

Therefore, the exhibition that we inaugurate today is a tribute to the imagination and to the book, in which any lover of reading can feel identified ”, Mercedes Bernabé highlighted.Visiting the exhibition is free and capacity is limited to a maximum of three people.

Its hours are from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 a.m.

to 1:30 p.m., and Monday to Friday, from 4:30 p.m.

to 8:30 p.m.Another of the actions that make up the Library Day program is the dissemination of two audiovisual productions to promote reading.

It is about 'Reading with other abilities', in which library users participate with literary recommendations, and 'Easy reading', an educational method to help people with reading comprehension difficulties.The assemblies are available, from today, on the YouTube channel of the City Council, as well as that of the Municipal Network of Libraries of Murcia.

'Reading with other abilities' will be broadcast today, tomorrow and Saturday, at 11.00 and 17.00; and 'Easy reading', today, tomorrow and Saturday, at 12.00 and 18.00.'Books in acoustic', tomorrow at the Artillery BarracksTomorrow, at 8:00 pm, the Artillery Barracks will host the presentation of the 'Acoustic Books' initiative, where Patricia Betancort will present her novel 'La reina Amazona'."It is a new, unique and very special format, where the writer will show her work through an event in which music and literature are mixed," the mayor highlighted.The soprano Amber Kay will liven up the event with Marina López at the piano.
