Murcia will be dyed pink tomorrow on the occasion of International Breast Cancer Day (18/10/2020)

During the meeting, promoted by the Department of Social and Family Rights led by Pilar Torres, a manifesto of support for women suffering from this disease will be read, promoted by the Spanish Breast Cancer Federation.After the reading of the manifesto, a small celebration with representatives of the Murcia City Council will take place in Plaza Belluga.

This meeting will be held respecting all the recommendations made by the health authorities to prevent coronavirus infections, such as social distancing between the participants."In this way we give visibility to this disease with the aim of giving hope to women who are suffering from it, and of informing so that it is diagnosed early", José Guillén stressed.

Furthermore, "we work together with associations and groups to contribute to this fight, which belongs to everyone, and which is not only physical, but also psychological.

The message of encouragement is fundamental for these people who suffer it, either directly or indirectly" Pilar Torres has concluded.Institutional collaboration with the Amiga AssociationThe Government Team maintains a fluid relationship with the Amiga Association, whose main task is to support women who suffer from breast cancer, as well as to contribute to the prevention of the disease or its early detection.

In Spain, more than 33,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year.The event to be held tomorrow is an initiative of the Asociación Amiga.

This organization will also launch an emotional support group on Wednesday, October 21, under the direction of the psychologist Antonio García.

On October 28 there will also be a talk entitled 'Better to live without fear' and which will be given by the psychologist Ana Peinado.

Both workshops will be held online.
